Barista Shift Leader

Responsibilities:

• Arrive early to open the shop and ensure everything is prepped to set the team up for success.
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
• Assist with food preparation and handling in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Maintain inventory levels of coffee beans, supplies, and food items; assist with ordering as needed.
• Set an example for team members and lead them in creating a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency.
• Prepare and securly transport daily bank deposits.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with cash handling/deposits and in a similar role in the food service or coffee industry is strongly preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Knowledge of Toast POS system or similar point-of-sale is a plus
• Available and punctual.
• Saturday and Sunday availability required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A great attitude
• Willingness to work within a team atmosphere
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures within the food industry.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989 with the dream of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee from Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Moloka'i and Ka'u with coffee lovers everywhere.
