Barista Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Supervisor to join the team at Pitchside within Surrey Sports Park. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to lead by example within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for running shifts, supporting the day-to-day operation of the café, and ensuring consistently high standards across customer service, food safety, presentation, and team performance. Working closely with the management team, the Supervisor will play a key role in motivating and deploying staff effectively, maintaining smooth operations during busy periods, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

This is a hands-on role which combines operational responsibility with customer interaction, requiring confidence, organisation, and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily café operations during shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient service at all times.
• Motivate, support and deploy team members effectively to ensure all operational tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming, professional environment for all customers.
• Prepare and serve a variety of high-quality hot and cold beverages in line with company standards.
• Take responsibility for opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and general duty management responsibilities as required.
• Monitor service standards, cleanliness, food safety, and presentation across all areas of the café.
• Ensure food safety and health & safety procedures are consistently followed by all team members.
• Support the training and development of staff, providing guidance and leadership during shifts.
• Manage busy service periods effectively, maintaining quality, efficiency, and team morale under pressure.
• Restock supplies and monitor stock levels to support uninterrupted daily operations.
• Communicate effectively with the wider management and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

Experience

• Previous experience within a hospitality, café, barista or food service environment is essential.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to lead by example.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Confident till operation skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A positive, proactive and team-focused attitude.

Pay: £14.77-£15.10 per hour
