Barista Trainer

Job Summary

Bungalow Coffee Co is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and approachable Barista Trainer to help develop baristas and maintain consistent coffee, beverage, and service standards. The ideal candidate has strong coffee knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train team members in beverage preparation, equipment use, guest service, cleanliness, and café procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Train new and existing baristas on coffee preparation and café procedures
• Demonstrate proper espresso preparation, brewing, steaming, and beverage techniques
• Teach team members how to operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment
• Train baristas on espresso dialing, grind adjustments, recipes, and beverage standards
• Provide hands-on coaching during café service
• Evaluate barista performance and provide constructive feedback
• Help team members improve beverage consistency, presentation, speed, and accuracy
• Train staff on POS procedures, order accuracy, and payment handling
• Teach proper food safety, sanitation, cleaning, and workplace safety procedures
• Support onboarding and orientation for new café team members
• Develop or update training materials, checklists, recipes, and service procedures as needed
• Monitor coffee and beverage quality and identify areas for improvement
• Assist with coffee tasting, brewing demonstrations, and product education when required
• Support baristas during busy service periods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked training and service area
• Communicate training progress and operational concerns to café management
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily café duties
• Perform other training and café responsibilities assigned by management

Requirements

• Previous barista, lead barista, senior barista, or coffee training experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of espresso, coffee brewing, and beverage preparation
• Experience using commercial espresso machines and grinders
• Strong communication, presentation, and coaching skills
• Ability to explain coffee techniques clearly and patiently
• Strong attention to detail and beverage quality
• Ability to work effectively with team members at different experience levels
• Knowledge of POS systems and café operations
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Reliable attendance and professional work ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced café environment

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
