About the role

Sumo's Restaurant & Cafe in the heart of Riccarton is looking for an experienced and friendly Barista / Front-of-House team member to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, takes pride in making great drinks and brings a positive attitude to work each day.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing consistently high-quality coffee
• Making our specialty drinks, including matcha drinks, shakes and other café beverages
• Greeting customers and providing friendly, professional service
• Taking orders and processing payments
• Serving food and drinks
• Maintaining a clean and organised front-of-house area
• Supporting the wider restaurant team when required

About you

• Previous barista experience
• Previous front-of-house or hospitality experience
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• A positive attitude and friendly personality
• The ability to work confidently in a busy environment
• Good reliability and punctuality
• Pride in presentation, cleanliness and attention to detail
• The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Experience preparing specialty drinks would be helpful, but training on our recipes will be provided
