Beth is a neighbourhood kitchen serving hearty Italian-European plates, good coffee, and drinks we genuinely love to make. We care about good food, thoughtful drinks, and creating a space where people feel at home.

We’re looking for an all-rounder who enjoys both coffee and hospitality. Someone who takes pride in making good drinks, loves interacting with people, and is happy to get involved in all aspects of running a neighbourhood kitchen.

What you’ll be doing

Coffee & Drinks

• Prepare espresso-based coffee, batch brew, matcha, tea, cold brew, and our signature drinks.
• Dial in and calibrate espresso, adjusting grind size, dose, yield, and extraction to maintain quality and consistency.
• Steam milk properly and pour clean latte art.
• Follow recipes carefully while maintaining consistency, speed, and presentation during busy service.
• Prepare drink ingredients, manage stock, and keep the drinks station clean, organised, and ready for service.
• Learn about coffee, ingredients, and flavour combinations, and contribute ideas for new drinks and seasonal specials.

Guest Experience & Service

• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, thoughtful hospitality throughout their visit.
• Learn our food and drinks menu, understand the ingredients and flavours behind each dish, and confidently explain and recommend items to guests.
• Take orders, serve food and drinks, clear and reset tables, and ensure guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
• Handle reservations and guest enquiries, and communicate clearly with both guests and the team.
• Be observant and proactive in anticipating guests’ needs, especially during busy periods.

Daily Operations & Teamwork

• Work closely with the kitchen and service team to keep daily operations running smoothly.
• Move between the coffee station and floor service depending on the needs of the day.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, cleaning, restocking, and general upkeep of the space.
• Take initiative, communicate well, and support teammates wherever needed.
• Contribute to a positive working environment and help create the kind of neighbourhood space we’re proud to be part of.

What we’re looking for

• Previous barista or F&B experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with espresso preparation, calibration, milk texturing, and latte art is a plus.
• Someone who enjoys coffee, food, drinks, and learning about the craft behind them.
• Warm, approachable, and comfortable interacting with different people.
• Responsible, attentive, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks during busy service.
• A team player who communicates well, takes initiative, and is willing to help wherever needed.
• Someone who is open to feedback, eager to learn, and takes pride in doing things well.
• Flexible and comfortable taking on both barista and service responsibilities.
