About White Rabbit Coffee and Wellness

White Rabbit is a local coffee house, reimagined. We make our gluten-free treats and syrups in house, pour locally roasted organic coffee from Lucky Tree Coffee Roasters in Raleigh, and carry natural plant-based wellness products, including hemp-derived THC and CBD. But what we really sell is a feeling: a place where people are genuinely cared for. Our shop hosts community and wellness groups, and many of our customers come in as much for the conversation as the coffee.

Good Coffee. Good People. Good Vibes. We’re looking for someone who gets that.

About the role

This is a customer service job first and a coffee job second. We can teach you to pull a shot. We can’t teach you to care how someone’s day is going. You’ll often be the only person on the floor, so we need someone who can own the shop on their shift: greet every guest, make them feel at home, and keep things running smoothly.

What you’ll do

• Welcome every customer warmly, learn regulars’ names and orders, and make every visit feel personal
• Prepare espresso drinks, teas, lemonades, and specialty drinks using our house recipes and cheat cards
• Serve our gluten-free bakery items and explain ingredients and options to guests with dietary needs
• Guide customers through our hemp-derived THC and CBD products (flower, gummies, vapes, drink add-ins), check IDs on every age-restricted sale, and explain products accurately and responsibly
• Handle the register, cash, and card payments accurately
• Keep the bar, case, and dining area clean, stocked, and guest-ready
• Open or close the shop independently following our checklists
• Help with community events and seasonal drink launches

What we’re looking for

• Must be 21 or older (this role involves selling and handling age-restricted hemp-derived THC products)
• Reliable transportation, with no exceptions
• Available evenings (until 8pm weekdays, 10pm Fridays and Saturdays) and weekends
• Genuine people skills: patient, warm, and calm when it’s busy
• Comfortable working alone on shift and taking ownership
• Shows up on time and holds themselves to a high standard
• Barista or customer service experience is a plus, not a requirement. We train the right person

Why work with us

• $11/hour to start, with a 30-day evaluation and a raise based on what you bring to the team
• Hands-on training in coffee, our bakery, and our wellness products
• A team that holds each other accountable and has each other’s back
• Schedules posted early, with weekends rotated fairly so everyone gets time off
• Be part of a shop that’s building real community in Clayton
• [Tips / employee discount, if offered]

To apply: Submit your application and tell us in one or two sentences about a time you turned a customer’s bad day around.
