Barista/Café All-rounder

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organised environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, good organisational skills, and a positive attitude. Responsibilities

• Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders accurately
• Prepare a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, and light snacks
• Ensure food safety standards are consistently met and maintained
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment throughout shifts
• Manage cash register operations, including handling payments and giving correct change
• Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service flow
• Assist with food preparation tasks as required, following health and safety guidelines
• Uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation at all times
• Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service

Skills

• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
• Barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for those new to coffee preparation
• Previous serving experience is advantageous, demonstrating strong customer service skills
• Ability to assist with food preparation in a fast-paced environment
• Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
• Excellent time management to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
• Friendly demeanour with strong communication skills
• Organised approach to work with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
