Bartender / Barback

Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Bartender / Barback to join our vibrant hospitality team. This role involves delivering exceptional service in a lively bar environment, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting bar operations, preparing beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous, along with a strong understanding of food safety and excellent time management skills.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and presentation standards
• Support bartenders by restocking supplies, garnishes, and glassware promptly to ensure smooth service
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning equipment and sanitising surfaces in compliance with food safety regulations
• Monitor guest consumption responsibly, ensuring adherence to licensing laws and promoting responsible drinking
• Assist in setting up the bar before service and clearing down at the end of shifts
• Engage with guests courteously, providing excellent hospitality to enhance their overall experience
• Manage cash register transactions accurately and efficiently
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation during busy periods

Experience

• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Knowledge of food safety standards relevant to bar service is desirable
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients are required
• Proven ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
• Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
• Familiarity with serving alcohol responsibly and understanding licensing laws is advantageous
