Bartender

Are you a people person who loves crafting the perfect cocktail and making travelers feel right at home? The Holiday Inn Charlottesville - Monticello is looking for an energetic, professional Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team.

In this role, you’ll be the face of our hotel bar and restaurant—serving up classic drinks, local Virginia craft beers, and great conversation to both our hotel guests and Charlottesville locals. Whether a guest is winding down from a business meeting or exploring the historic Monticello area, you will set the tone for a warm, welcoming experience.

What You'll Do (Essential Duties)

• Craft & Serve: Mix, garnish, and serve high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
• Hospitality First: Welcome guests warmly, take food and drink orders efficiently, and provide personal recommendations on our menu and local Charlottesville attractions.
• Keep it Clean: Maintain a spotless, organized, and fully stocked bar area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Handle Transactions: Accurately process payments using our POS system, balance cash receipts, and manage room charges for hotel guests.
• Responsible Service: Strictly check identifications to verify legal drinking age and confidently manage guest alcohol consumption in accordance with Virginia ABC regulations.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Previous bartending or high-volume hospitality experience is preferred, but a stellar attitude and willingness to learn go a long way.
• Compliance: Must meet the minimum state age requirement to serve alcohol in Virginia. TIPS, RSVP, or equivalent responsible alcohol service training is a major plus.
• Skills: Exceptional communication skills, ability to multitask under pressure, and a natural knack for customer service.
• Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed by hotel occupancy.
