The Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate bartender to join our Front of House team.

You’ll be confident behind the bar, with strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and beverage service, and comfortable working efficiently in a busy, premium restaurant environment. We’re looking for someone who understands the details that make a great bar run smoothly - from preparation and presentation to consistency, organisation and genuine hospitality.

While the bar will be your primary focus, teamwork is a big part of how we operate. You’ll be happy to step onto the restaurant floor when needed, whether that means running food, assisting with service or looking after guests.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven bartending experience within a quality restaurant, bar or comparable hospitality environment.
• Strong cocktail knowledge and confidence preparing both classic and contemporary drinks.
• Good knowledge of spirits, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
• An understanding of bar operations, preparation, stock management and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
• The ability to work calmly, efficiently and consistently during busy services.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• A team-first attitude and willingness to support the wider restaurant operation.
• Confidence communicating with guests and making thoughtful beverage recommendations.
• A desire to continue developing your beverage and wine knowledge.

Craggy Range Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week. The role will include a combination of day, evening and weekend shifts, with flexibility within the roster.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand and previous experience in a comparable hospitality environment.
