What they need
The Dorian bar team is growing!
Nestled in the heart of Notting Hill, Dorian is a lively neighbourhood bistro where flavour takes centre stage and great hospitality comes without unnecessary formality.
Our food and drinks are taken seriously, but the atmosphere is relaxed, energetic and full of personality. We combine warmth, ease and precision to create an experience that goes beyond traditional expectations of a Michelin establishment.
We’re incredibly proud that our small but spirited neighbourhood restaurant was named one of the UK’s ten best restaurants this year. With exciting plans for the future and new openings on the horizon, there couldn’t be a better time to join the team behind the magic.
We’re now looking for an experienced and charismatic Bartender to become part of Dorian.
This is a part time role - 25-30 hours per week
The role
As Bartender, you’ll be at the heart of the restaurant, creating exceptional drinks while contributing to the energy, rhythm and atmosphere of every service.
You’ll prepare classic and signature cocktails with accuracy and flair, serve an outstanding selection of wines, spirits and beers, and help guests find the perfect drink for their tastes and occasion.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that a brilliant bar is about much more than making drinks. You’ll create genuine connections with guests, keep your section running beautifully and work closely with the floor, wine and kitchen teams to deliver a seamless experience.
You’ll bring personality and confidence to the bar while respecting the precise preparation, organisation and attention to detail required behind the scenes.
We want to hear from you if you:
- Genuinely love drinks, food, restaurants and hospitality
- Have previous bartending experience in a busy, quality-led restaurant or bar
- Know your way around classic cocktails, spirits, beer and wine
- Can produce consistently excellent drinks, even during the busiest services
- Are curious about ingredients, producers, techniques and new flavour combinations
- Understand that preparation and organisation are the foundations of a great service
- Bring warmth, personality and natural hospitality to every guest interaction
- Work calmly and confidently under pressure
- Notice the small details and take pride in getting them right
- Enjoy working as part of a close, ambitious and energetic team
- Are happy to share knowledge, receive feedback and continue learning
- Can balance speed, creativity and precision without compromising standards
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing and serving classic cocktails, Dorian signatures and bespoke drinks to consistently high standards
- Talking confidently with guests about cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and non-alcoholic options
- Making thoughtful recommendations based on each guest’s preferences, occasion and budget
- Preparing the bar thoroughly before service, including garnishes, glassware, ice, stock and equipment
- Maintaining accurate recipes, measures, presentation and quality across every drink
- Keeping the bar clean, organised, safely stocked and ready for service
- Checking product quality and flagging availability or preparation issues before they affect guests
- Supporting stock counts, deliveries, rotation, transfers and cellar organisation
- Recording wastage, breakages and spillages accurately
- Following responsible alcohol service, licensing and age-verification requirements
- Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, food safety and safe working
- Building genuine relationships with regulars while making first-time guests feel immediately at home
- Communicating clearly with the floor, wine, kitchen and management teams throughout service
- Supporting the wider restaurant team whenever needed
- Contributing ideas for new drinks, seasonal serves and improvements to the bar
- Helping develop the confidence and product knowledge of colleagues
- Taking responsibility for opening, closing and handover procedures as required
You’ll enjoy:
- Shaping memorable guest experiences with Dorian’s unique combination of ease, warmth and precision
- Working with outstanding spirits, wines, seasonal ingredients and carefully sourced produce
- Being part of a restaurant where the bar is fully connected to the food and wider guest experience
- Learning through tastings, supplier sessions, masterclasses and hands-on development
- Expanding your knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and food pairing
- Working alongside passionate people who care deeply about their craft
- Joining an exciting, constantly evolving team with genuine opportunities to grow across the company
- Support with your development goals, whether you’re interested in qualifications, competitions or progressing into bar management
- Competitive remuneration and an excellent benefits package, including health insurance and discounts across our businesses
- Genuine work–life balance and 35 days’ holiday per year, including a two-week summer break and closure over the festive season
