Bartender

We are a busy midtown Irish bar and restaurant looking for a reliable and experienced bartender. Previous experience necessary.

Duties:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
• Take customer orders and provide recommendations on drink selections
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area
• Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for alcohol consumption
• Handle cash transactions and operate a cash register
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the sale of alcohol
• Monitor customer behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or disruptive behavior
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage orders for customers
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a timely manner

Requirements:

• 2 years experience in New York City Bar / Restaurant Required

• Authorization to work in the US

• Knowledge of retail math principles for handling cash transactions accurately

• Strong hospitality skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service

• Familiarity with food service and the food industry

• Proficient in cash handling procedures, including making change, processing credit card payments, and balancing cash drawers

• Understanding of brewing techniques and familiarity with different types of alcoholic beverages

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members

• Basic math skills for calculating drink prices, handling tips, and managing inventory levels

• Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met
