Bartender

Join the NEW Tommy's Pizza Covington as a Bartender, where you'll be the heartbeat of the bar, creating memorable experiences for guests through great service and expertly crafted beverages. This energetic role combines your passion for making great drinks, extensive beverage knowledge, and outstanding customer service skills to elevate every guest interaction. Whether mixing classic cocktails or serving our ice cold draft beers to patrons, the bar tenders keep the drinks and energy going all shift long.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, spirits, wine, craft beers, and non-alcoholic options with precision and fun.
• Engage with guests in a friendly, energetic manner to enhance their overall experience and foster repeat business.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Process cash transactions accurately using Toast POS
• Develop and suggest beverage recipes, including signature cocktails, to diversify menu offerings and excite guests.
• Manage bar inventory levels, restock supplies, and place orders as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
• Uphold responsible alcohol service policies by checking IDs, monitoring guest consumption, and preventing over-serving.
• Assist in bar management tasks such as training new staff on recipes, POS systems, and food safety procedures.
• Stay informed about current trends in brewing, spirits, wine knowledge, and cocktail innovations to bring fresh ideas to the bar.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bartending in a restaurant setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, wine pairing principles, craft beer varieties, beverage recipe development, and mixology techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrated time management skills to handle busy service periods seamlessly.
• Food handling certification and adherence to food safety standards required; experience in food service or restaurant environments preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and special event shifts like banquets or nightclub functions.
• Basic math skills for retail math calculations related to sales totals and cash handling; experience with hospitality industry math is advantageous.
• Knowledge of beverage safety regulations and responsible alcohol service policies essential for maintaining a safe environment.
