Job Overview

Vito’s Italian Restaurant & Grill at Lake Anna is looking for an experienced, energetic, and personable Bartender to join our team.

We’re looking for someone who can do more than simply make drinks. Our bartenders are expected to create an atmosphere, connect with guests, work quickly, and help drive sales while maintaining excellent service standards.

The ideal bartender is outgoing, dependable, organized, and comfortable handling a busy bar while still making every guest feel welcome.

Responsibilities

As a Vito’s Bartender, you will:

• Provide friendly, engaging, and attentive bar service
• Prepare beer, wine, cocktails, and mixed drinks accurately and consistently
• Build relationships with regulars and create a welcoming atmosphere for new guests
• Take food and beverage orders from bar guests
• Prepare service-bar drinks efficiently for restaurant servers
• Make recommendations and confidently upsell beverages, food, and add-ons
• Maintain proper pours and follow established recipes
• Keep the bar clean, stocked, organized, and ready for service
• Properly handle cash, credit cards, and POS transactions
• Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock items to management
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities
• Follow all Virginia ABC requirements and responsible alcohol-service procedures
• Work closely with servers, support staff, kitchen staff, and management
• Maintain composure, organization, and a positive attitude during high-volume shifts

The ideal candidate:

• Has previous bartending or strong restaurant experience
• Has a friendly, outgoing personality
• Enjoys talking with guests and building regular clientele
• Can handle a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Has strong knowledge of basic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
• Understands the importance of suggestive selling and increasing check averages
• Is dependable, punctual, and professional
• Works well as part of a team
• Can multitask without sacrificing hospitality
• Takes pride in keeping a clean and organized bar
• Is available for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
