Join our vibrant team as we open a new Bar/Cafe/Venue in Bushwick! House of Nancy is a multi-faceted space which hosts artists of many kinds in our bar and cafe venue. Events include everything from comedy drag pageants to salsa class to live indie bands.
In this role as a bartender, you will craft delicious beverages, deliver exceptional customer service, and create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest while the bar is open for evening service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food service, beverage preparation, while working in a brand new space built for artists.

We are currently looking for someone available for 2 shifts per week on Monday and Friday evenings, with potential flexibility for coverage.

Duties

• Prepare a variety of beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, slushies, and draft beers following established recipes and quality standards
• Operate Clover to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
• Provide friendly and attentive customer service, assisting guests with menu selections and answering questions about products
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area by cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas regularly to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
• Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give accurate change while adhering to cash handling procedures
• Restock supplies such as liquor, beer, straws, and napkins to ensure smooth daily operations
• Follow food safety guidelines during beverage preparation and food handling activities to promote a safe environment for staff and guests

Qualifications

• 1+ year bartending experience
• NYC Food Handlers Certification
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Basic math skills for cash handling, processing transactions, and measuring ingredients accurately
• Experience using POS systems such as Clover
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper cleaning procedures in food service settings

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
