Bartender

Maritime is looking for an experienced, dependable, and outgoing bartender to join our team in Winter Haven.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with guests. The ideal bartender is personable, confident, friendly, and comfortable starting conversations, building relationships with regulars, and helping create an energetic and welcoming atmosphere at the bar.

This position also requires someone who is dependable and comfortable with the responsibility of opening and closing the restaurant when scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and other beverages accurately and consistently
• Actively engage with guests and create a friendly, personable bar experience
• Start conversations, learn guests’ preferences, and help build repeat business and regular clientele
• Provide attentive and professional service throughout the guest experience
• Follow Maritime cocktail recipes, specifications, and presentation standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout the shift
• Complete all opening, closing, and shift-change responsibilities
• Be comfortable opening the restaurant and unlocking doors when scheduled
• Be comfortable closing the restaurant, completing final closing duties, and locking the doors at the end of the night
• Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other supplies
• Prepare garnishes and complete bar prep as needed
• Properly handle cash and POS transactions
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol-service procedures
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, management, and other bartenders
• Help maintain a fun, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for guests

What We’re Looking For

• Previous bartending experience preferred
• Strong cocktail, beer, wine, and spirits knowledge
• Outgoing, personable, and comfortable talking with guests
• Someone who understands that bartending is as much about hospitality and personality as it is making drinks
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Comfortable being responsible for opening and/or closing the restaurant
• Comfortable working in a busy restaurant/bar environment
• Ability to multitask and stay organized during high-volume periods
• Team-oriented attitude
• Must meet Florida requirements for serving alcohol
• Open availability, including but not limited to brunch, evenings, late nights, weekends, and possible holidays

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their drinks, their bar, and the relationships they build with guests. Our bartenders play an important role in the overall guest experience, and we value people who are naturally personable, attentive, and enjoy creating the kind of welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
