OPP is a new art-driven dining destination in Baltimore, where oysters, pizza, and pasta meet art, conversation, and unforgettable nights.

Part restaurant, part gallery, and entirely its own thing, OPP was created for people who appreciate good food, thoughtful hospitality, and spaces with a little personality.

We’re building our opening Front of House team and looking for bartenders who understand that great bartending is about more than making drinks. It’s about hospitality, consistency, attention to detail, efficiency, and knowing how to create an experience from the other side of the bar.

We’re looking for experienced bartenders who understand the fundamentals of full-service dining and bring something of their own to the table.

Bartender Responsibilities: Guest Experience & Bar Service

• Welcome bar guests and provide attentive, knowledgeable service throughout their experience.
• Guide guests through OPP’s food and beverage menus, offering thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences.
• Prepare cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages accurately and consistently, following OPP recipes and standards.
• Develop a thorough understanding of beverage ingredients, cocktail specifications, menu ingredients, allergens, and available food offerings.
• Maintain proper drink presentation, portioning, glassware, and garnishes.
• Accurately enter orders, manage guest checks, process payments, and handle cash using the restaurant’s POS system.
• Manage multiple guests and drink tickets while maintaining quality, accuracy, and appropriate service pacing.
• Prepare beverages for both bar guests and the dining room service bar.
• Maintain awareness of bar guests throughout service and anticipate their needs.
• Recognize service issues early, respond professionally, and communicate concerns to management when appropriate.
• Follow all responsible alcohol service requirements and applicable laws.

Bar Operations & Service Support

• Complete opening, running, and closing bar duties.
• Prepare and maintain required juices, syrups, garnishes, mixers, and other bar mise en place.
• Stock and replenish liquor, wine, beer, nonalcoholic beverages, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies throughout service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar and service area.
• Wash, polish, organize, and properly store bar glassware and tools.
• Monitor product levels and communicate low stock, breakage, waste, or inventory concerns to management.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and proper product-handling procedures to maintain consistency and control waste.
• Follow sanitation, food safety, and bar cleanliness standards.
• Assist with food running, table maintenance, resetting, and other Front of House service needs when necessary.
• Support the entire dining room, including assisting guests outside the bar when needed.
• Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, fellow bartenders, and management.
• Participate in required training, beverage tastings, menu tastings, and pre-shift meetings.
• Support private events and special programming as needed.

Required Qualifications & Expectations

• Working knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, cocktail preparation, proper measurements, and standard bar techniques.
• Experience working a service bar and managing multiple drink tickets during busy service.
• Experience using a restaurant POS system to enter orders, manage checks, process payments, and complete end-of-shift checkout procedures.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and the ability to verify identification appropriately.
• Ability to follow established cocktail and mocktail recipes accurately and consistently.
• Understanding of proper bar setup, breakdown, stocking, sanitation, and organization.
• Ability to provide attentive, organized service while managing multiple guests and service tickets.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, fellow bartenders, and management.
• Willingness to assist with food running, table resets, side work, and service needs beyond the bar.
• A team-first mentality and willingness to support the entire Front of House team, regardless of assigned role or section.
• Ability to remain composed, organized, and attentive during high-volume service periods.
• Willingness to learn OPP’s food, beverage, and art programs and participate in required training, tastings, and pre-shift meetings.
• Dependability, punctuality, and a professional appearance.
• Ability to stand and move throughout extended service periods and safely perform the physical duties required behind the bar.
• Availability for afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in bartenders who are personable, attentive, organized, and genuinely enjoy hospitality.

You should understand that personality behind the bar matters, but so do the fundamentals: knowing your recipes, keeping your station clean, staying ahead of your prep, managing service tickets, communicating with the team, and maintaining consistency when the bar gets busy.

At OPP, the bar is part of the dining experience—not a separate operation. We’re looking for bartenders who take ownership of their station while understanding that everyone in the Front of House contributes to the entire room.

Pay: From $5.00 per hour
