Location: Mad Monkey Kuta Lombok
Department: Food & Beverage (F&B)
Reports To: Bar Supervisor / F&B Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences by preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, cleanliness, and responsible alcohol service. As a key member of the Mad Monkey team, the Bartender helps create a fun, welcoming, and energetic atmosphere that encourages guest engagement and memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Welcome guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner.
• Provide excellent customer service and create a positive, social atmosphere.
• Recommend beverages, cocktails, and promotions to guests.
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and promptly.
• Build rapport with guests while maintaining professional boundaries.

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Mad Monkey recipes and standards.
• Ensure consistency in drink quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Verify guests' age before serving alcoholic beverages where applicable.
• Practice responsible alcohol service and refuse service when necessary.

Bar Operations

• Set up and prepare the bar before opening.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, and workstations throughout the shift.
• Replenish stock, garnishes, ice, and supplies as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to supervisors.
• Assist with stock receiving and proper storage following FIFO principles.

Cash Handling

• Process guest orders accurately using the POS system.
• Handle cash, card payments, and other payment methods accurately.
• Balance cash drawer and complete end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Report any discrepancies immediately.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized working environment.
• Comply with local health regulations and company policies.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of beverages and bar equipment.

Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with kitchen, service, housekeeping, and reception teams.
• Support colleagues during busy periods and special events.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Contribute to maintaining a positive workplace culture.

Events & Entertainment

• Assist with hostel events, parties, happy hours, pub crawls, and themed nights.
• Encourage guest participation in activities while promoting responsible drinking.
• Help create an engaging social atmosphere aligned with the Mad Monkey brand.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bartender or in hospitality is preferred.
• Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and basic mixology.
• Experience using POS systems is an advantage.
• Good understanding of responsible alcohol service.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia; conversational English is required.
• Additional language skills are a plus.
