Job Overview

David's Mai Lai Wah is one of the oldest Philadelphia Chinese Eateries and we are officially open for dine-in service with a full bar. We are looking for an experienced bar tender who is able to make cocktails without substantial instructions, and willing to help train additional bartenders. We are currently tipped based, but average pay has been roughly $22 - $35 per hour, depending on your shift (night shift on weekends pays more.) Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their experience and promote beverage sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Process cash and card transactions accurately using POS systems ; handle cash handling responsibly.
• Develop and refine beverage recipes, experimenting with flavors to create signature cocktails that delight guests.
• Manage bar inventory, restocking supplies as needed while minimizing waste; monitor alcohol consumption to ensure responsible service.
• Collaborate with restaurant staff to coordinate service flow during busy hours, including catering events, banquets, or nightclub nights.
• Uphold all food safety regulations and ensure compliance with health department standards in beverage preparation and food handling.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bartending within fine dining establishments, nightclubs, or catering environments.
• Extensive knowledge of mixology techniques, spirits, wine varieties, craft beers, and beverage recipe development.
• Familiarity with POS systems; strong basic math skills for processing transactions and retail math calculations.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle challenging situations professionally.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods.
• Previous food service experience including serving, food handling, and cashiering is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper alcohol service procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and special events such as banquets or nightclubs.

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.5 – 22.0 per week
