Bartender – Seventeen Steakhouse

Seventeen Steakhouse is looking for a skilled, personable, and dependable Bartender who can prepare quality beverages while providing excellent guest service. The ideal candidate is honest, attentive, organized, and able to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, mocktails, and other beverages according to standard recipes.
• Recommend beverages and wine pairings that complement steaks and other menu items.
• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, professional service.
• Verify guests’ age and follow all applicable alcohol-service laws and company policies.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, discounts, voids, and complimentary items.
• Monitor liquor, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, and other bar supplies.
• Assist with regular inventory counts and immediately report shortages or discrepancies.
• Control beverage portions and help minimize waste, breakage, and overpouring.
• Prepare the bar before service and replenish supplies throughout the shift.
• Keep the bar counter, equipment, glassware, storage areas, and workstations clean and organized.
• Check product quality, expiration dates, and proper stock rotation.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol-service, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Communicate clearly with servers, kitchen employees, supervisors, and management.
• Handle guest concerns calmly and refer serious issues to a supervisor.
• Complete opening and closing duties, including cash and stock endorsements when assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Bartender, Bar Server, or similar hospitality position.
• Knowledge of classic cocktails, basic mixology, wines, beers, spirits, and proper glassware.
• Familiarity with beverage costing, portion control, and bar inventory is an advantage.
• Experience using a POS system and handling cash accurately.
• Strong communication, customer-service, and multitasking skills.
• Able to work quickly and remain professional during busy service periods.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting bar supplies when necessary.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
• Bartending or responsible alcohol-service training is an advantage.
