Bartender

Full time | Permanent | Evenings and weekends | On-site

Behind every great night out is a bar team that keeps the drinks flowing and the mood right. We are adding a Bartender to ours, on a £26,500 basic salary plus a fair share of tips, working evening and weekend shifts.

Whether you have shaken a few cocktails before or have never stood behind a bar, you will get paid training on our full drinks menu, till system and licensing rules. Plenty of good bartenders start out waiting tables, working in shops or serving customers in other ways, so that kind of background is a solid base.

Running the Bar

Your shift starts with getting the bar ready: cutting garnishes, filling ice wells, checking stock and making sure the back bar looks its best. During service, you will be serving guests at the bar and from table orders, keeping track of tabs and making sure nobody waits too long. When the night winds down, you will help clean, restock and close up so the next shift starts smoothly.

Your main duties will include:

• Making and serving drinks to our recipes and presentation standards
• Talking guests through the menu and suggesting something they will enjoy
• Running tabs and taking card and cash payments
• Asking for ID where needed and refusing service responsibly
• Swapping kegs, restocking fridges and rotating stock
• Keeping the bar top, glassware and work areas spotless
• Working closely with floor staff to get table orders out quickly
• Letting your supervisor know when stock runs low

• The ability to keep several orders in your head at once
• Good timekeeping and a reliable attitude
• A willingness to help teammates without being asked
• Physical stamina for lifting crates and changing kegs
• Availability for evenings and weekends
• You must be 18 or over, as the role includes serving alcohol

• £26,500 basic salary plus a fair share of tips

• Monthly check-ins with your manager to talk about your development
• A route to Senior Bartender and Bar Supervisor, reviewed every six months on performance
