Bartender

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bartender greets guests, answers their questions, takes orders, prepares, and serves alcoholic and other beverages. He/she maintains a clean workspace, sufficient inventory, updates display, and continuously expands his/her knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation techniques. The Bartender takes time to perfect certain recipes and learn new ones to offer to guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Welcome guests, inform them about specials or new items on the menu, and accept orders.

2. Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to guests.

3. Mix cocktail recipes. If necessary, highlight the differences between items.

4. Learn about new recipes, develop new concoctions, and improve presentation techniques.

5. Request or check identification to ensure guests are of legal age to purchase alcohol.

6. Tidy the work area, restock supplies, empty trash, and sanitize equipment and utensils.

7. Replenish used or broken items in his area and participate in the monthly inventory for the bar area only.

8. Ensure that the work area is kept clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations at all times.

9. Able to make Coffee concoctions also.

10. Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Associate Certificate in Hotel and Restaurant Management or any related course.

With Bartender NCII

EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENT

At least 1 year of experience in a similar capacity

Ability to work independently and with a team

Active listener and keen on details

With excellent communication and guest service skills

Ability to be calm, composed, and accurate even under pressure
