Bartender

Job Summary

We need a friendly, dependable bartender for our local neighborhood bar, The Duck Inn. You will welcome guests, remember regulars, pour accurate drafts and mixed drinks, and manage open tabs. The ideal person creates a safe, welcoming, and lively community atmosphere. Looking for full time and part time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages including cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and specialty drinks according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their overall experience
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
• Process cash transactions accurately using POS systems
• Manage multiple drink orders efficiently while ensuring quality control and consistency in every pour
• Uphold responsible alcohol service policies by checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of mixology techniques, cocktail recipes, wine varieties, craft beers, spirits, and beverage presentation
• Proficiency with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for processing transactions swiftly and accurately
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders during busy periods without compromising quality
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests and create a welcoming environment
• Experience in fine dining or upscale hospitality settings is highly desirable
• Ability to develop innovative beverage recipes and contribute creatively to the bar menu
• Solid understanding of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service regulations
• Previous restaurant or food service experience with bartending or bar management responsibilities is preferred
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
• Knowledge of catering or banquet experience adds value in event settings
