Job Summary

We are looking for a Bartender who is passionate about beverages, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to G&P standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar. Beyond making great drinks, the role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, responsible service, and the ability to connect naturally with guests.

The ideal candidate is confident behind the bar, eager to continuously improve their craft, and understands that great bartending is both a technical skill and a hospitality experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesBar Operations

• Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, coffee, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Execute drink orders accurately, efficiently, and consistently.
• Maintain proper mise en place and ensure the bar is fully prepared before service.
• Monitor bar inventory, supplies, glassware, garnishes, and equipment.
• Follow proper procedures for receiving, storing, handling, and issuing beverage products.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar throughout the shift.
• Complete opening, during-service, and closing bar duties.

Beverage Craft & Quality

• Demonstrate knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and other beverage products relevant to the restaurant.
• Follow standardized recipes while maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning.
• Apply proper techniques in shaking, stirring, muddling, straining, pouring, garnishing, and other beverage preparation.
• Practice proper glassware selection, presentation, and beverage service.
• Participate in beverage training, product tastings, and skills development.
• Stay curious and continuously develop knowledge of beverages and bartending techniques.

Guest Experience

• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, professional bar service.
• Engage guests appropriately and create a comfortable and enjoyable bar experience.
• Provide recommendations based on guest preferences when appropriate.
• Explain beverages, ingredients, flavor profiles, and preparation when requested.
• Observe guest needs and respond proactively.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and seek assistance from the appropriate supervisor when necessary.
• Help create a bar atmosphere that reflects the personality and standards of the G&P brand.

Responsible Beverage Service

• Follow company standards and applicable requirements for responsible alcohol service.
• Verify guest eligibility when required.
• Monitor alcohol service and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Never compromise guest safety or company standards in the interest of sales or service speed.

Teamwork & Professionalism

• Work closely with FOH, BOH, and management to ensure smooth service.
• Communicate clearly with teammates during busy operations.
• Support fellow Partners during service when needed.
• Receive coaching positively and actively work on areas for improvement.
• Maintain professionalism, proper grooming, and appropriate bar etiquette at all times.
• Serve as a positive representation of G&P's culture and values.

Inventory & Cost Control

• Follow proper portioning and dispensing standards.
• Minimize beverage waste, breakage, and unnecessary product loss.
• Report discrepancies, damaged products, equipment concerns, or unusual incidents promptly.
• Assist with inventory counts and monitoring of beverage consumption when required.
• Help protect company assets and beverage products.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar beverage-service role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and other beverages.
• Knowledge of basic bartending techniques and bar operations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant or bar environment.
• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining consistency during high-volume service.
• Professional, approachable, and comfortable interacting with guests.
• Willingness to learn new products, techniques, and service standards.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform regular bar-service duties.
