Bartender

Goat Island Restaurant & Lounge is looking for a skilled, creative, and personable bartender to join our team!

We are seeking someone with a strong knowledge of bartending, drink preparation, and mixology who takes pride in providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, enjoys connecting with people, and is excited to bring fresh ideas, signature drinks, and creativity to our bar.

Above all, we are looking for someone who understands that bartending comes with responsibility. Our bartender must demonstrate good judgment, professionalism, and discipline around alcohol while ensuring all applicable South Carolina alcohol laws and regulations are followed. Responsible alcohol service and the safety of our guests are non-negotiable.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mixing classic cocktails while bringing new drink ideas and creative specials to the menu.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide friendly, attentive service to every guest.
• Follow all applicable South Carolina alcohol laws, licensing requirements, and responsible service practices.
• Verify identification and check guests’ ages when required.
• Recognize signs of intoxication and appropriately refuse service when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar.
• Handle transactions accurately and follow established cash-handling procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the restaurant team to ensure a positive guest experience.

• Proficient bartending skills and a solid understanding of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and drink preparation.

• Creativity, initiative, and a willingness to contribute new ideas.
• Strong personal responsibility, sound judgment, and a professional attitude toward alcohol.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn and consistently follow, all applicable South Carolina alcohol laws and regulations.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Pay: From $4.00 per hour
