Bartender

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE: To prepare and serve mixed beverages for restaurant, bar, lounge & cafe

HOURS This position requires availability on Thursdays from 3pm - close and Fridays and Saturdays from 12pm - 8:30pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner, deferring to the Restaurant Manager when necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction.

· To extend a courteous, friendly and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart.

· To make the Restaurant Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints.

· To be completely familiar with company beverage line and drink recipes.

· To provide properly mixed cocktails and other beverages, as requested, to service staff and the general public.

· To use suggestive selling techniques to promote the sale of food and beverages.

· To follow all specified procedures to properly open and close the bar, including handling bar keys, running TOAST reports and performing all necessary side work.

· To maintain adequate stock of beverages, supplies and clean glassware in accordance with established pars and routine procedures, and be responsible for the security of beverage stock while on duty.

· To maintain the organization of the bar areas at all time, including emptying trash as needed.

· To review and verify previous shift’s inventory, at the beginning of every shift.

· To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle cash, including signing paid-out sheet for tips received, maintaining adequate cash amount in bank, giving correct change for cash transactions, ringing all drinks through the POS system, and accurately processing credit card vouchers.

· To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage.

· To represent and market The Sea Ranch Lodge Inn in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote the TSRL internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.

· To promote and comply with all policies and procedures of The Sea ranch Lodge.

· To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.

· To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.

· To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.

· To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

· Weekend are required

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must have minimum one year similar experience. Must know the fundamentals of beverage mixing, inventory and pars, glass types ad uses, and drink recipe knowledge. Good basic math skills necessary. Must be familiar with California liquor laws. Current CPR certification preferred. Hotel experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works indoors throughout shift in clean, adequately lighted restaurant area. Work areas may be crowded or noisy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks short distances throughout shift. Bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and lifts to perform routine tasks. Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over short distances.
