We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bartender to join our team at The Farmhouse Tap & Grill in Burlington. The ideal candidate will have a passion for local beer, cocktails, and wine and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. As a Bartender at Farmhouse Burlington, you will be responsible for creating and serving beverages at the bar and service well for the restaurant while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. We have a main dining room bar, in the cold months we have a cozy basement speakeasy bar, and in the warmer months we have an outdoor beer garden bar. Bartenders are cross trained to serve and are assigned serving shifts as needed.

Pay:

This is a tipped position, base rate is $14.25 an hour plus tips.

Total Average Earnings estimated depending on hours & schedule worked.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils, completing sidework, and other daily tasks.
• Engage with customers, taking orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring satisfaction with their drinks and food.
• Handle transactions accurately, including processing payments and managing tabs.
• Complete necessary prep (juicing, making syrups, garnishes, batched cocktails, and any other prep projects needed for service)
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe eating and drinking environment.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff for service or special events as required.
• Stay updated on new drink trends and menu items to enhance the guest experience.
• Report directly to Bar Manager and General Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a bar, food service, and hospitality is required.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and classic cocktails.
• Bar skills (shaking, stirring, how to properly pour beer, change kegs, wine service etc.)
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
• Cicerone Beer Server certification (if you do not have it already it will need to be completed after 3 months of employment)
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this role.
