Bartender

Bittercreek Alehouse is seeking a friendly, skilled, and customer-focused Bartender to prepare and serve beverages while providing excellent guest service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, knowledge of beer, cocktails, and beverage service, and the ability to maintain a clean, organized bar in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established standards.
• Mix cocktails and prepare drinks accurately and efficiently.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive customer service.
• Explain beverage options, including beer selections and specialty drinks.
• Take customer orders and process payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
• Restock beverages, glassware, garnishes, and bar supplies.
• Monitor inventory and report low stock to management.
• Check identification and follow applicable alcohol-service laws.
• Follow responsible alcohol-service practices and refuse service when legally required.
• Maintain proper sanitation and food safety standards.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Handle customer questions and resolve minor service concerns professionally.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Monitor beverage presentation, quality, and consistency.
• Maintain accurate cash handling and point-of-sale records.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred.
• Knowledge of beer styles, cocktails, spirits, and beverage preparation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with a team.
• Professional attitude and a welcoming personality.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and local regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Required alcohol-service certification, where applicable.

Pay: $23.27 - $28.02 per hour
