Job Overview

The Headless Widow, a stylish and lively cocktail bar in the heart of NYC's East Village, is looking for experienced, reliable, and personable bartenders to join our team!

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about hospitality, knowledgeable in mixology, and confident working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Our ideal candidate has a strong background in craft cocktails, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multitask while maintaining speed, accuracy, and consistency. We take pride in creating memorable guest experiences and are looking for bartenders who bring professionalism, positive energy, and a strong work ethic to every shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve classic cocktails, signature craft cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Provide exceptional, friendly, and attentive guest service while creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
• Work efficiently during high-volume shifts without compromising drink quality or service.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of spirits, cocktail preparation, garnishes, and proper bartending techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout each shift.
• Accurately process orders and payments using our Toast POS system.
• Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and assist with opening and closing duties.
• Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and management to ensure smooth service.
• Follow all NYC and NYS alcohol service regulations, food safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
• Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and reliability with all scheduled shifts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of professional bartending experience REQUIRED.
• Prior experience in a high-volume cocktail bar, upscale restaurant, or NYC nightlife establishment strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, craft mixology, spirits, wine, and beer.
• Ability to prepare multiple drink orders quickly, accurately, and consistently.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills.
• Comfortable handling busy shifts and maintaining composure under pressure.
• Experience with Toast POS or similar restaurant POS systems preferred.
• Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and a team player.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
