Bartender

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic, guest-focused Taproom Bartender to join the team at Newport Craft, home to Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling, Radiant Pig Beer and Braven Brewing. For many guests, our taproom is their first taste of our brand, and in this role you’ll make that experience memorable through great service, well-poured drinks and a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll share the Newport Craft story, guide guests through our beer and spirits lineup and work closely with our Taproom Manager.

With our newly expanded taproom opening soon, we’re looking for team players who love craft beverages and take pride in great hospitality. Craft bartending experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pour draft beer, craft cocktails, spirits and packaged products, and sell merchandise
• Greet guests, share the Newport Craft story and make recommendations from our beer and spirits lineup
• Keep the bar, taproom, outdoor spaces and restrooms clean and inviting
• Wash, sanitize and maintain glassware to taproom standards
• Help with merchandise organization and stock levels
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold Newport Craft’s hospitality standards

Qualifications

• 1+ year of craft beer or spirits bartending, or 2+ years of general bar experience, preferred
• Knowledge of craft beverage flavors, styles and ingredients
• Strong communication skills and a warm, professional manner with guests and coworkers
• Ability to juggle tasks, prioritize and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 55 lbs and move kegs up to ~165 lbs
• Cicerone or similar certification strongly preferred
• Must be able to commute to Newport, RI

Schedule

• Weekends and extended shifts as needed

Pay: $3.89 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
