Job Description

Summary of Position: With multiple bars, waterfront views, and plenty of drinks flowing, Bartenders are at the heart of the experience at Big Chill Island House. We’re looking for experienced Bartenders who know how to make a great drink, deliver great hospitality, and have some fun while doing it. You’ll craft everything from signature cocktails to the classics, guide guests through our beer, wine, spirits, and food offerings, and create the kind of bar experience that turns first-time visitors into regulars. Our Bartenders set the tone behind the bar — staying knowledgeable, organized, and efficient while bringing personality to every guest interaction. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests with genuine, friendly hospitality and create a fun, approachable bar experience
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages consistently and according to established recipes and standards
• Build strong knowledge of our signature cocktails, craft beer, wine, spirits, and food menus
• Guide guests through our offerings, answer questions, and make thoughtful drink and food recommendations
• Take and enter orders accurately and efficiently while staying attentive to guests throughout their experience
• Get to know our regulars and help turn first-time visitors into returning guests
• Prepare garnishes, juices, and other bar ingredients needed for service
• Keep the bar clean, organized, stocked, and ready to go throughout each shift
• Work closely with Barbacks and fellow Bartenders to replenish liquor, beer, wine, glassware, ice, and other supplies
• Process cash and card transactions accurately
• Follow all company policies and applicable laws regarding responsible alcohol service, including recognizing signs of intoxication and involving a Manager when appropriate
• Stay knowledgeable about Big Chill Island House events, Barefoot Landing, and the surrounding area so you can be a resource for our guests
• Complete opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities while jumping in wherever needed to support the team

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have at least 1 year relevant bartending/hospitality experience, preferably in a fast-paced bar/restaurant.
• Must have fundamental knowledge of beer, wine and liquor, and common drink recipes.
• Must possess cash handling/math skills and have the ability to efficiently operate a cash register/POS .
• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills with a customer-service oriented attitude.
• Must be a team-player and enjoy interacting with others.
• Must enjoy working outside by the beach.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must have a current Alcohol Beverage Certificate in South Carolina.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Pay & Perks:
