Nightclub Bartender – Job Description

Location: 201 Main – Salinas, CA
Position: Nightclub Bartender
Schedule: Friday & Saturday Nights | Late Night Shifts

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and customer-service-oriented Nightclub Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced nightlife environment, can efficiently serve high volumes of guests, and maintains a positive, professional attitude under pressure. This position requires strong multitasking skills, extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages, and the ability to create an enjoyable guest experience while following all company policies and alcohol service regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately, efficiently, and consistently.
• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional customer service in a high-volume nightclub environment.
• Handle multiple drink orders simultaneously while maintaining speed and accuracy.
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Verify guest identification and follow all responsible alcohol service laws and regulations.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and recognize signs of intoxication.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout the shift.
• Complete opening, closing, restocking, and cleaning duties as assigned.
• Maintain accurate cash handling practices and follow company procedures for reporting tips.
• Communicate effectively with fellow bartenders, barbacks, security, and management.
• Follow all company policies regarding attendance, punctuality, dress code, and workplace conduct.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience preferred, particularly in a nightclub or high-volume bar.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification within the legally required timeframe.
• Strong knowledge of mixed drinks, cocktails, beer, and liquor.
• Ability to work efficiently in a loud, crowded, and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and customer service skills.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and available to work Friday and Saturday nights, including holidays and special events.
• Ability to remain professional and composed when handling difficult guests or high-pressure situations.
• Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds when necessary.
• Ability to work in a loud environment with flashing lights and large crowds.
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
