About the role

Valstar Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bartender Staff to join our hospitality team in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest experiences through expert beverage preparation and outstanding customer service. As a Bartender, you will be the face of our bar operations, creating memorable moments for our guests whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and excellence. This role is central to our commitment to providing world-class hospitality and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of our establishment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and company standards
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders efficiently, and ensuring guest satisfaction
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment behind the bar, including proper sanitisation of all equipment and glassware
• Accurately process payments and manage the point-of-sale system whilst maintaining strict cash handling procedures
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, cocktails and beverages to make informed recommendations to guests
• Create signature cocktails and speciality drinks whilst maintaining consistency in quality and presentation
• Monitor inventory levels, report stock requirements and assist with ordering and restocking of beverages and bar supplies
• Comply with all health, safety and licensing regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices
• Work collaboratively with front-of-house and back-of-house team members to ensure seamless service delivery
• Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards in accordance with hotel policies
• Respond promptly to guest requests and handle complaints professionally and courteously

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a bartender in a hotel, resort or upscale hospitality establishment, preferably in a similar tropical destination
• Strong knowledge of cocktail preparation techniques, mixology and classic as well as contemporary cocktail recipes
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere
• Proficiency in operating point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with fluency in English; additional languages such as Indonesian or Mandarin are advantageous
• Physical stamina to work extended shifts in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining focus and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
• Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene standards in food and beverage service
• Certification in Responsible Beverage Service or equivalent bartending qualification is preferred
• Positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic with a passion for hospitality
