Bartender/Server

At Gladstone Brewing Co., we genuinely love our team and the community we have the privilege of serving every day. We are a family-run brewery that believes great beer, great food, and genuine hospitality all go hand in hand. We are currently looking for someone with full availability, particularly evenings and weekends, to join our Front of House team as a Bartender/Server.

From our humble home-brewing beginnings in a garage on Gladstone Avenue in Victoria, BC, Gladstone Brewing Co. has grown into a gathering place for the Comox Valley, built around collaboration, creativity, craft beer, and community. We are incredibly proud of what we've built, and even more excited about where we're headed.

Job Details:

• Serving wage at the current provincial standard, plus participation in the tip pool
• Full-time, permanent position
• Evening and weekend availability required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Deliver warm, enthusiastic, and professional service to every guest
• Bartend and provide counter service with consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail
• Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Gladstone Brewing Co.'s beers, seasonal features, cocktails, food menu, and beverage offerings
• Help guests discover beers, cocktails, and menu items through thoughtful recommendations
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate effectively with the kitchen and team
• Deliver food promptly while ensuring an exceptional guest experience
• Keep the bar, dining room, patio, and service areas clean, organized, and guest-ready
• Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and side duties thoroughly
• Monitor the guest experience and contribute to a fun, welcoming atmosphere
• Thrive during busy service periods with professionalism and a positive attitude
• Assist with restocking coolers, kegs, glassware, and supplies
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for guests and staff

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Serving It Right Certificate
• Minimum of 2–3 years of hospitality experience
• Bartending experience is a strong asset
• Craft beer knowledge is an asset, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are even more important
• Cocktail experience is an asset
• Cicerone certification is a strong asset
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and in a fast-paced environment
