About the Position

Integrity Specialists International, Inc. (isi), doing business as Meter and Valve Company (MVCo), is seeking a Barton Chart Recorder Technician to join our Taft, Texas team. This hands-on position will support the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, rebuilding, calibration, and testing of Barton chart recorders and associated measurement equipment. MVCo’s product offerings include remanufactured Barton recorders, differential pressure units, and replacement components.

We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and ensures equipment is properly serviced, documented, and ready for customer use.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. Receive and evaluate chart recorders and DPUs, identify worn or damaged components, determine repair requirements, and complete disassembly, cleaning, rebuilding, and reassembly.
• Service recorder components. Inspect and repair or replace differential pressure units, pressure and temperature elements, chart drives, pens, mechanical linkages, seals, and related components, as applicable to the instrument.
• Calibrate and verify performance. Use appropriate calibrated reference equipment to check and adjust instrument zero, span, and linearity in accordance with manufacturer instructions and approved procedures. Verify pen alignment, chart movement, and recording operation.
• Complete testing and quality checks. Perform applicable leak checks and functional testing, verify the correct instrument configuration and measurement ranges, and address deficiencies before equipment is released.
• Maintain accurate service records. Document equipment identification, inspection findings, parts replaced, repairs completed, calibration results, and final equipment condition. Communicate repair status, material needs, and issues that may affect completion.
• Support safe, organized shop operations. Maintain tools and work areas, assist with parts inventory and equipment preparation for shipment, and follow company safety requirements, including safe pressure handling and depressurization before servicing equipment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience repairing, rebuilding, or calibrating Barton chart recorders or comparable mechanical measurement instruments.
• Understanding of pressure, differential pressure, and temperature measurement, with the ability to interpret instrument ranges and chart scales.
• Ability to use hand tools and calibration equipment and follow technical manuals, parts diagrams, work orders, and service procedures.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to maintain accurate records and manage assigned work independently.

Preferred experience: Direct experience with Barton two- and three-pen recorders, differential pressure units, and oil and gas measurement equipment. MVCo’s Barton offerings include two-pen configurations and three-pen configurations with temperature measurement. meterandvalve.com

Work Environment

This position is based at the Taft, Texas office/shop and is not remote. Duties include detailed bench work, handling instrumentation and components, and using hand tools and test equipment. Applicants must be able to perform the essential duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
