We are a growing and forward-thinking Chartered Accounting firm based in Auckland CBD, seeking an experienced BAS Accountant – Intermediate to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, solving business problems, and being part of a modern, technology-driven accounting practice. You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from SMEs to established businesses, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns for a broad range of clients
• Provide taxation advice and ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST, PAYE, and FBT obligations
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Complete statistics returns, surveys, and other compliance requirements
• Assist clients with accounting system setups and process improvements
• Support Directors with advisory and special projects
• Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships
• Communicate accounting and tax concepts clearly and professionally to clients

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a New Zealand Chartered Accounting firm at an Intermediate BAS Accountant level or above
• Strong understanding of New Zealand taxation and compliance requirements
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and MYOB with the ability to use the platform confidently and efficiently
• Excellent technical accounting and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively
• A proactive mindset with an interest in improving business processes and embracing technology
