BATCHING PLANT MANAGER

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Batching Plant Manager to oversee the operations of our batching plant facility. This is a contract position based in Sandakan, Sabah. As Batching Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the batching plant, ensuring quality control, regulatory compliance, and optimal productivity. This role is crucial to maintaining our construction supply chain and supporting the delivery of our projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the batching plant, including material handling, mixing, testing, and delivery of concrete products
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure all machinery is maintained in optimal working condition
• Conduct quality control tests on concrete mixes and ensure all products meet required specifications and standards
• Manage inventory of raw materials, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective procurement
• Supervise and coordinate plant staff, including operators, technicians, and quality control personnel
• Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental compliance procedures across the facility
• Document production records, test results, and maintenance logs in accordance with company protocols
• Liaise with project managers and clients to understand delivery requirements and schedules
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement cost-saving measures
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and conduct regular safety briefings with the team

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Batching Plant Manager or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry
• In-depth knowledge of batching plant equipment, concrete production processes, and quality assurance procedures
• Strong understanding of relevant Malaysian construction standards and regulations, including ISO and concrete specifications
• Demonstrated experience in managing plant operations and supervising technical teams
• Proficiency in quality control testing and concrete mix design principles
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with staff and stakeholders
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing operational demands
• Relevant certifications in batching plant operations or concrete technology are highly desirable
