BATTERY DATA ANALYST

OVERVIEW

MOCX is building Africa’s clean energy infrastructure through innovative mobility and

energy solutions. Through its subsidiary, Rechaj, the company operates a Battery-as-a-

Service (BaaS) model that supports sustainable transportation by providing battery-

swapping services and energy infrastructure for electric vehicles.

As MOCX builds out its Research & Development department in Lagos, we are seeking an

analytical Battery Data Analyst to join our Battery Pack & BMS team.

The successful candidate will use battery data to understand how our batteries are used,

how they age and how we can make them last longer.

This is a chance to use physics, chemistry, engineering and data science on one of the most

important technologies of our time. Every battery in our network tells a story, and your job

is to read it, model it and use it to make better decisions. If you love finding patterns in data

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis

• Analyse battery data to understand usage, charging and performance patterns.
• Establish baselines and track changes over time.

Battery Health & Lifecycle

• Build and maintain models of battery health and lifespan.
• Study how temperature, charging and usage affect battery life.

Insights & Reporting

• Build dashboards and reports that help engineers and operations make decisions.
• Flag batteries and patterns that need attention early.
• Write clear findings and recommendations for engineering and management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering,

Physics, Mathematics or a related field (First Class or Second Class Upper

preferred).

• 0–3 years of experience in data analysis or engineering analysis.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Comfortable working with large, messy real-world datasets.
• Evidence of data projects you have completed (please include links or descriptions).

TECHNICAL & PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS (PREFERRED)

• Understanding of lithium-ion batteries.
• Experience with dashboard tools (e.g. Metabase, Power BI).
• Experience with machine learning or time-series data.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This is a fully in-person role based at our Lagos office, with regular time at our battery

facility and operating sites. You will work closely with R&D engineers, operations teams

and the R&D Director.
