Battery Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the fundamental research and architectural design of 3D current collector-based composite anodes for lithium-metal batteries. Drive the exploration of novel material systems and structural configurations to achieve high energy density and prolonged cycle stability.
• Design and implement comprehensive electrochemical testing protocols to systematically evaluate the performance and durability of the composite anodes in full-cell configurations.
• Design and execute comprehensive characterization protocols to investigate electrode reaction mechanisms, interface evolution, and ion transport kinetics. Provide fundamental insights that drive the optimization of electrode architecture and material compatibility.
• Coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting of test data. Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations, regularly communicating progress, key findings, and critical milestones. Drive project follow-up actions and ensure the timely execution of validation plans.
• Serve as the technical lead to coordinate cross-functional efforts among internal materials, cell engineering teams, and external suppliers. Accelerate the maturity and knowledge transfer of electrode technology for subsequent integration into full-cell systems.

Requirements

• Doctor’s degree required in Electrochemistry, Energy Systems, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of lithium-metal battery systems, 3D current collector technologies, and composite anode architectures.Hands-on experience in full-cell assembly and solid understanding of comprehensive electrochemical testing methodologies. Deep understanding of electrode-electrolyte interface science and electrochemical reaction mechanisms.
• Proficiency in advanced material and electrochemical characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, or in-situ/operando methods) for analyzing interface evolution, phase transitions, and ion transport kinetics.
• Demonstrated experience in managing R&D projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving project follow-ups. Ability to facilitate technical collaboration between internal R&D groups and external partners to accelerate technology maturation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong self-motivation, and the ability to work independently under tight timelines. A proactive mindset in identifying technical bottlenecks and delivering actionable solutions.
• Professional working proficiency in both English and Chinese, capable of drafting technical protocols and conducting vendor and cross-functional communications effectively.
