We are looking for an experienced HOMAG Beam Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team.

The Role

As a Beam Saw Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate operation of our HOMAG beam saw, producing components for furniture and fitted installations.

You'll work from production information, cutting lists and drawings to ensure materials are cut accurately and efficiently, ready for the next stage of the manufacturing process.

This is an important role within our production operation, and we're looking for someone who understands that accuracy at the cutting stage is critical to the quality and efficiency of the finished product.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the HOMAG beam saw safely and efficiently.
• Set up and prepare the machine for production runs.
• Accurately cut MDF, MFC, plywood, laminates and other sheet materials.
• Work from cutting lists, drawings, job sheets and production information.
• Check material type, thickness, dimensions and quantities before cutting.
• Load and position sheet materials safely and correctly.
• Select and run the appropriate cutting programmes.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments where required.
• Carry out dimensional and quality checks throughout production.
• Ensure finished components are correctly labelled and organised.
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
• Minimise material waste through accurate cutting and efficient sheet utilisation.
• Identify and report material defects or machine issues.
• Carry out routine cleaning and basic machine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Work closely with the wider production team to ensure components move efficiently through the factory.
• Support other manufacturing activities when required.

About You

We're looking for an experienced machine operator who understands the demands of furniture and commercial fit-out manufacturing.

You'll ideally have experience operating a HOMAG beam saw or similar industrial CNC cutting equipment and be comfortable working from cutting lists and technical drawings.

You will need to be:

Experience We'd Like to SeeEssential

• Previous experience operating a beam saw, panel saw or CNC cutting machinery.
• Experience within a manufacturing, furniture, joinery or fit-out environment.
• Good understanding of measurements and dimensions.
• Ability to work accurately from cutting lists and production information.
• Understanding of workshop Health & Safety.

Highly Desirable

• Previous experience operating HOMAG machinery.
• Experience with CNC beam saws.
• Experience setting and preparing machinery.
• Experience with automated cutting programmes.
• Experience with nesting and material optimisation.
• Experience manufacturing furniture or components for commercial fit-outs.
• Experience working with MDF, MFC, plywood and laminates.
• FLT experience/licence.
• Basic machine maintenance experience.
