Responsibilities

• Supervise children during before-school and after-school hours, ensuring their safety and adherence to program rules
• Lead engaging youth activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects that promote childhood development
• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment
• Assist with homework help and tutoring sessions to support academic success
• Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to respond promptly to emergencies
• Collaborate with team members to plan and execute age-appropriate activities aligned with youth development principles
• Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and safety documentation to ensure compliance with program standards

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred
• Demonstrated classroom management skills and experience in behavior management strategies
• Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols required or obtainable upon hire
• Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus
• Experience facilitating youth group activities or leading outdoor work experiences enhances your candidacy
• Previous roles such as babysitting, coaching sports, theater instruction, or daycare work provide valuable relevant skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team dedicated to youth development
