Before & After School Program Teacher

Just Kidding Learning Center is hiring a fun, dependable, and energetic team member to lead our before and after school program! We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with school-age children, can manage a busy program, and makes safety a priority.

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport children to and from surrounding schools using JKLC vehicles.
• Manage daily routines, activities, and supervision for our before and after school program.
• Plan engaging classroom activities that encourage creativity, friendships, learning, and teamwork.
• Provide homework support and positive behavior guidance.
• Lead daily programming during WCSD and Pinecrest school breaks, including summer break.
• Transport and accompany children on scheduled field trips during summer and other school breaks.
• Actively supervise children during field trips, maintain required staff-to-child ratios, conduct frequent name-to-face checks, and follow safety procedures at every destination.
• Follow provided field trip schedules and ensure necessary supplies and emergency information accompany the group.
• Maintain accurate attendance and name-to-face checks during school pickups, drop-offs, transitions, and outings.
• Communicate professionally with families, school staff, and the JKLC team, including sharing field trip reminders.
• Keep program spaces clean, organized, and ready for children.
• Follow childcare licensing requirements, transportation procedures, and JKLC policies.

Qualifications:

• Must be 25 years or older to meet transportation requirements.
• Valid driver’s license, a safe driving record, and ability to meet JKLC’s driver eligibility requirements.
• Comfortable driving a passenger van and transporting children.
• Dependable, punctual, patient, and organized.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Able to actively supervise children and manage a group with confidence and kindness.
• Able to complete required background checks, fingerprinting, and childcare training.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience working with school-age children or leading a childcare program preferred.
• Availability for before and after school hours, school breaks, and summer programming and field trips.
