Behavior Technician

Title: Behavior Technician (RBT) – 1:1 & Day Program

Pay: $19.50–$22/hour

The role

This is a dual role: dedicated 1:1 behavioral support for a client who needs skilled, one-on-one attention, plus support in our day program alongside the rest of our team. It can be intense work, and it's deeply rewarding for the right person. You'll implement behavior plans, collect the data our BCBA uses to shape those plans, and be a steady, safe presence for someone on their hardest days — while also helping our broader group of clients stay engaged, active, and connected out in the community.

The heart of how we approach this work: we treat behavior as communication to understand, not something to correct or control.

What you'll do

• Provide 1:1 behavioral support to an assigned client, implementing their behavior plan with fidelity
• Collect accurate behavioral data and communicate it clearly to our supervising BCBA
• Support day program clients in community-based activities, outings, and daily engagement
• Build genuine, trusting relationships as the foundation for helping clients progress
• De-escalate difficult moments calmly and safely, keeping the client and yourself safe
• Help transport clients as needed (additional paid hours available for those able to assist)
• Document accurately and follow the standards that keep our clients safe and our program strong

What we're looking for

• Previous DSP or direct-care experience (any setting — it doesn't have to be day program)
• RBT certification strongly preferred; if you're not certified, we want to know where you are with it
• Comfort and skill with 1:1 behavioral work, including occasional intense behaviors
• Someone who leads with compassion and engagement, not correction and control
• A learning mindset — open to our approach and methods regardless of past experience
• Reliable, dependable, and genuinely committed to showing up for the people who count on you
• Willing and able to be a driver; reliable transportation
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Schedule

25–35 hours per week. Core required presence is 10:00 AM–2:30 PM, plus 4 administrative hours weekly. Additional hours are available for those able to help with client transportation.
