About Aventura Behavior Therapy

At Aventura Behavior Therapy, we believe every child has limitless potential. We provide compassionate, individualized, evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities throughout Oakland County and surrounding communities.

Our services are delivered primarily in the child's natural environment—their home and community—where meaningful learning happens every day. We value collaboration, integrity, cultural responsiveness, and family involvement, creating a supportive environment where both our clients and our team members can thrive.

Whether you are an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or someone looking to begin a rewarding career in ABA, we provide the training, supervision, and support needed for success.

Position Summary

Aventura Behavior Therapy is seeking compassionate, energetic, and dependable Behavior Technicians to join our growing team. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children with autism and developmental disabilities in their homes and community settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and are passionate about helping families build meaningful skills that promote independence and improve quality of life.

Responsibilities

As a Behavior Technician, you will:

  • Implement individualized ABA treatment programs developed by a supervising BCBA.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions in clients' homes and community settings.
  • Teach communication, social, play, daily living, and adaptive skills using evidence-based ABA strategies.
  • Reduce challenging behaviors through positive behavior support and skill-building interventions.
  • Collect accurate session data and record client progress using electronic documentation systems.
  • Assist with age-appropriate activities of daily living (ADLs) when included in the treatment plan.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate regularly with supervising BCBAs and participate in ongoing training and supervision.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to provide high-quality therapy services.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Special Education, Human Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with children, individuals with autism, or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain patient, energetic, and professional in challenging situations.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass required background checks.
  • Willingness to travel to client homes within assigned service areas.
