This position may also be referred to as an ABA Therapist, Behavior Interventionist, Behavioral Health Technician, Behavior Support Specialist, or Registered Behavior Technician depending on experience and certification.

Hummingbirds Behavioral Therapy LLC is looking for compassionate, reliable, and motivated Behavior Technicians (BTs) to join our clinical team and provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.

Our team provides individualized behavioral programs designed to help each client develop meaningful skills in communication, social interaction, self-help, independence, and daily living. We believe in a collaborative approach that includes our clinical team, families, and caregivers to help every client make meaningful progress.

No prior ABA experience? Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is helpful, but our clinical team will provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Pay & Schedule

• $19.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
• Part-time role
• Enjoy a flexible schedule with opportunities to work afternoons and early evenings
• Paid sick and vacation time available after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period

Basic Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, registration & auto insurance
• Comfortable with local travel to nearby client locations (20-40 mile radius)
• Passion for working with children (experience preferred)
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Background check clearance
• Physical requirements: Active role including standing, kneeling, running, and lifting up to 40 lbs while engaging with children

What You'll Do

• Establish & maintain therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity
• Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills
• Fades prompts appropriately to promote both successful and independent responding
• Increases the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations)
• Accurately collect behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, and interval based recording
• Follows the treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation
• Collaborates with family and treatment team to provide treatment effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment
• Write clinic notes each session
• Attend clinic meetings/trainings as directed by the Clinical Team
• Conduct weekly debriefs with Clinical Supervisor on each case
• Follow ethical standards regarding behavioral modification
• Maintain telephone contact and a reliable method to record scheduled appointments and return phone calls, texts, and emails within 24 hours
• Maintain reliable transportation and current liability insurance for the vehicle
• Stand, sit, twist, kneel, bend-over, crouch down, walk, and sit/play on the floor for extended periods of time as well as lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs without assistance from another adult

Transportation Requirements

• Employees must be comfortable traveling to client locations throughout, but not limited to, Santa Ana, Costa Mesa, Garden Grove, Tustin, and Fountain Valley
• Please do not apply if you are not willing or able to travel to clients' homes to provide services
