Behavior Technician (BT)

Empower Steps ABA is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Behavior Technicians (BTs) to provide individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with autism and developmental disabilities.

This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in ABA, behavioral health, psychology, child development, education, or a related field.

Services are primarily provided one-on-one in clients’ homes under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy to children in their homes.
• Implement treatment programs and behavior-support strategies developed by the supervising BCBA.
• Help clients develop communication, social, play, self-help, and daily living skills.
• Collect accurate data on client progress during each session.
• Follow behavior intervention, safety, and clinical procedures.
• Complete session notes and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Participate in training and supervision with the supervising BCBA.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and other team members.
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company policies.
• Travel to assigned client homes within the service area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Experience with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral needs is a plus.
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to speak Vietnamese is a plus, but not required.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes.
• Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance when driving is required for assigned travel.
• Dependable, patient, professional, and comfortable working independently in clients' homes.
• Ability to follow clinical instructions and accurately collect behavioral data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to complete required background screening and other employment requirements.

Schedule

This is a part-time, hourly position. Work schedules depend on client availability and authorized service hours.

Afternoon and early evening availability is especially helpful, as many clients receive services after school.

Hours may vary depending on client needs, authorization, cancellations, and employee availability.
