Behavior Technician

Behavioral Support & Implementation

• Implement daily schedules as developed by the clinical team, applying reinforcement strategies, de-escalation techniques, and structured routines consistently across all shifts.
• Collect and record accurate behavioral data (frequency, duration, ABC data) in real time and submit documentation in accordance with organizational timelines.

Crisis Prevention & Physical Intervention

• Apply approved CPI physical intervention holds when all verbal and non-physical de-escalation efforts have been exhausted and the safety of the resident or others is at imminent risk, in strict compliance with organizational policy and Texas DFPS regulations.
• Structure, Routine & Milieu Management
• Maintain a highly structured, predictable, and therapeutic daily routine for residents, understanding that consistency is foundational to behavioral stability for the girls we serve.
• Enforce household rules, expectations, and schedules with calm, firm, and supportive redirection — modeling regulation and professionalism at all times.

Medication Administration

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed and in accordance with The Averie Foundation's medication administration policy and Texas DFPS/HHSC regulations.
• Maintain a Medication Administration Record (MAR) with complete accuracy — documenting the medication, dose, time, route, and resident response for every administration

Documentation & Reporting

• Complete all required shift documentation, including daily progress notes, incident reports, behavioral data sheets, and shift logs with accuracy, objectivity, and attention to detail.

Resident Care & Supervision

• Provide direct supervision of residents at all times in accordance with The Averie Foundation's supervision policy, including 15-minute visual checks, enhanced supervision protocols, and 1:1 supervision as assigned.
• Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, grooming, laundry, meal preparation, and room maintenance — promoting independence as appropriate to each resident's level.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be physically capable of responding to behavioral crises, including the ability to safely implement CPI-approved physical intervention holds when required..

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
