What they need

Behavior Technician /Behavioral Therapist

We are seeking experienced behavioral therapists (BTs) throughout New Jersey to provide ABA and behavioral therapy services to patients in their homes, schools and in our Morris County ABA clinic in NJ. The successful candidates will work directly with the Director of Behavioral Therapy and ABA services.

The ABA and Behavioral Therapy Program is an integral part of NCBI's Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic and Treatment Center and the Mind-Body Neuropsychiatric Center treating patients with Autism, intellectual disorders, ADHD, ODD, OCD and Tourette's syndrome

Our BTs provide individualized behavioral support to patients by implementing treatment plans, teaching communication and daily living skills, encouraging prosocial behaviors, and reducing challenging behaviors. They track each patient’s progress, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with families, supervisors, and other professionals to support each client’s developmental and behavioral goals while ensuring a safe, supportive environment.

You will be part of a clinical team providing the following clinical services:

· Implement individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and other behavioral therapy protocols to support clients’ developmental goals

· Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, and communication skills development

· Collect and record behavioral data accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment plans

· Support patients in managing challenging behaviors through positive reinforcement strategies and behavior management techniques

· Collaborate with supervising behavior analysts to conduct assessments and update treatment plans

· Communicate effectively with patients’ families, caregivers, and team members to promote consistency in care and therapy goals

· Maintain confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and managing medical documentation securely

Qualifications

· Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (preferred) or willingness to become certified

· Experience working with children or individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder or other disabilities and neurobehavioral disorders

· Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), behavior management, and implementing ABA therapy protocols

· Ability to assist with ADLs and support behavioral health needs in home-based or clinical settings

· Strong data collection skills for behavioral data collection, documenting sessions, and progress tracking

· Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical documentation standards

· Excellent patient communication skills, patience, and a compassionate attitude toward clients and families

· Must be committed to professional ethical standards and compliance with all relevant regulations

Education:

  • High School Diploma (required)
