Behavioral Health Technician

The Behavioral Health Technician plays a vital role in the treatment process by observing and monitoring patients, facilitating therapeutic activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. You will work closely with the clinical team to develop treatment plans and promote the well-being of our patients. Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following: CORE JOB DUTIES:

• Perform patient safety checks, room checks, and shift hand-offs to ensure a safe environment
• Support the admission process, including belongings searches, documentation, and orientation of new patients
• Monitor and engage patients during meals, groups, recreational activities, and community interactions to build rapport and encourage participation
• Assist nursing staff with vitals, breathalyzers, urine drug screens, pulse oximetry, and other competency-based procedures
• Observe and report changes in patient behavior, mood, or safety concerns to the treatment team
• Respond promptly to emergencies and implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies when needed
• Maintain infection control, hand hygiene, and biohazard safety standards in all patient care activities
• Collaborate with nursing, clinical, and case management staff to reinforce treatment goals and individualized care plans
• Model professionalism, boundaries, and recovery-focused behaviors for patients at all times
• Others duties as assigned

• Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required. Coursework or degree in behavioral health or related field preferred

• 3+ years of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a related field preferred.

• Prior experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or human services in roles with emphasis involving direct customer or client service experience, strongly preferred.

• Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards.

• QMAP, CNA, MA, Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT), Mental Health Technician Certification (MHTC), trauma-informed care training/certification or in process of obtaining preferred

• CPR and Standard First Aid certification
