Behavioral Health Technician - Days

The BHT/Care Coordinator is part of a multidisciplinary team that participates in hands-on care to patients with varying mental health and/or substance use disorders. Care Coordinators perform a vital, front-line function to Icarus Behavioral Health Nevada as they observe, aide and interact with patients. This shift is 12 hours, 6am-6pm.

• Building rapport with patients, clinical staff and medical staff.
• Transporting patients to and from any outside appointments when needed
• Observing patients and ensure safety while in treatment.
• Assist clinical and medical staff with intakes, orientations and daily operations.
• Assisting in Self-Administered Medication.
• Conducts and documents individual's vitals and reports all questionable results to medical staff. Conducts and documents all BAC and urine drug screens.
• Documents all services and significant individual interactions in the electronic health record. Monitors and documents patients every 15 mins.
• Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility. Performs light cleaning of interior center, restocking and launders individuals clothing when needed.
• Facilitates group sessions daily.
• Demonstrates positive role modeling for the clients through mentoring and coaching while utilizing recovery skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with Mental Health and/or Substance Use Disorders
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members
• Ability to perform data collection accurately for ongoing assessments of patient progress
• A compassionate approach towards mental health care, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs
• Strong boundaries with compassion
• High school diploma/GED Equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Clear background check

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
